Austin Alley (yes, his real name) is a native of Northern California and has played all over the north state in clubs, festivals, concert openers and private events.

His song writing pen never stops, as he has completed over 100 songs, and still no end in sight. He formed Austin Alley & the Rustlers in 1983 in Eureka, CA with James Raymond on drums and Robin Cobb on bass.

Austin recorded "We Are the Rustlers" in 1987, which we are re-mastering for CD. The band was very busy during that time, often playing 5 nights a week to packed houses. Anybody remember the 1980s?

Well, despite more than a few changes in personnel, the band remains a trio. Austin likes the close knit camaraderie and crisp, uncluttered delivery of the three-piece unit. Austin Alley has a sound that is somewhere in the blend of what has come to be known as "country rock", but with a little more bite than the Eagles or Travis Tritt.

Stated another way, this band has equal appreciation for George Jones and AC/DC. In addition to the original music, the band likes to have its way with other artists' songs, giving them that special "Rustlerized" touch.

The current lineup, together since 1999, features Bill Moehnke on drums and
Norm Crawford on bass. Our recent recordings are "Ride Again", which came
out in 2000, and "Country Metal" which was released in 2003. We have been in
the studio recently with Grammy-nominated arranger Mike Kapitan. Working with
Mike is great and we really look forward to making those recordings available soon.
